Basic math skills plus problem-solving strategies equal student success! With this teaching resource students practice both basic number and operation skills and problem-solving strategies in the same activity.

Each activity pairs a basic math skill-such as adding, subtracting, or multiplying-with a problem-solving strategy, such as guess and check, find a pattern, or make a list.

The activity includes

• a reproducible practice page that students complete independently, in pairs, or in small groups
