Monthly themes-each with mini-books, calendars, recipes, and activity
pages-get kids excited about school while building skills in coloring,
alphabet and numbers, reading, mazes, and more!
This book was designed specifically for early childhood students.
It is divided into twelve months, each month containing themes and
activities. The themes are an excellent way to discuss topics such
as holidays, families, animals, friends, and seasons.
Each month contains a wide variety of activities that allow students
to learn a variety of skills and academic basics. The alphabet, colors,
numbers, writing, reading, and math activities presented develop skills
that, if practiced, will give students an edge as they continue their
schooling.
Each month offers the following:
- The Bear Coloring pages are the first page of each month. Coloring
this bear can be a great way for the students to get excited about
learning the months. They can even be turned into a "Bear Through
the Year" book.
- Next is a Calendar page which can be used in several ways. In
the first few months, add the numbers for the days and recite them
with the children. Later, have the students trace the numbers and
maybe even fill in the numbers themselves.
- The Learning Letters pages cover all the letters A-Z throughout
the year and end with review pages.
- The Alphabet Recipe pages are a fun way to reinforce the letters
learned that month.
- The Mini Book can also be used in multiple ways. They are fun
books, covering one of the month's themes, that can be read to students
or they can read themselves.
- The Mazes and Dot to Dot pages follow the themes of the month
and can help students with eye/hand coordination.
- The Activity pages each month cover two themes. Some are teacher
pages with directions for activities. Others are student pages that
can be copied and used as worksheets.
The following are the themes for each month:
- September - School and Apples
- October - Halloween and Autumn
- November - Thanksgiving and Families
- December - Holidays and Jack Frost
- January - Bears and Penguins
- February - Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day
- March - St. Patrick's Day and Spring
- April - April Showers and Bunnies
- May - Mother's Day and Caterpillars/Butterflies
- June - Father's Day and Birds
- July - July 4th/Canada Day and Friends
- August - Oceans and Farms
This book is filled with entertaining and lively activities that
will excite children and encourage them to want to learn. Given a
safe, stimulating, colorful environment, students will thrive and
learn to love coming to school.
